Fishing for floating litter is rewarded
Rubbish does not belong in the canals.
The Leiden Rederij Foundation, together with its volunteers, is committed to cleaner waters in Leiden – and with Lief voor Leiden, you can join in.

Come along, take a scoop net or litter picker out onto the water, fish rubbish out of the canal and hand it in at the Leiden Rederij.
As a thank you, you will receive a token worth approximately €3.
You can redeem this token at various locations for a cup of coffee/tea, a visit to the Young Rembrandt Studio or a free walking guide at the tourist office.

How does the campaign work?

    Come along, receive a scoop net or grabber and start fishing for floating litter in the canal.
    Hand in the litter at the Leidse Rederij.
    Receive your reward immediately.
