Park & Ride

The Park & Ride at Haagweg number 8 (2311AA) is situated on the fringe of the historical centre of Leiden. This cheapest parking facility of the city with 500 spaces is situated just over 5 minutes walking distance from our shipping office at Apothekersdijk number 5. Free shuttle buses will bring you from this largest parking place of Leiden to any location in the inner city, on a schedule of once every few minutes. When you are finished with your city trip you can wait for the shuttle bus to pass by, it will stop upon your signal. You can also call 071-5120071 and the shuttle bus will pick you up within a few minutes.

The ‘Breestraat’
Just over 10 minutes walking distance from our shipping office you will find a car park ‘de Breestraat’ at Kaardesteeg number 11 (2311KN) above the Hoogvliet Supermarket. From the parking garage you can take the exit Breestraat in the direction of the centre. Walk to the end of the Breestraat and turn right at the Kort Rapenburg. Cross the Bostelbrug and on your right-hand side you will see the Old Rhine with our shipping office on the Apothekersdijk number 5.

Bicycle

You are welcome to come by bike!

At our shipping office at the Apothekersdijk number 5 there are enough bicycle racks along the quay of the Old Rhine where you can easily park your bike.

With us you can also rent a bike! For € 10, - per day you can make a nice bike ride through the city or get a breath of fresh air on the beach.

Train

When you arrive in Leiden by train, walk from the station in about 10 minutes to our shipping office at Apothekersdijk number 5. From the main square in front of the railway station (on the East side) you go straight into the Stationsweg and the Steenstraat. Turn left across the Blauwpoortsbrug and turn right into the Prinsessekade. Turn left just before the Bostelbrug into the Apothekersdijk.
Our shipping office is on your left after about 25 meters at number 5 (2312 DC).

F.A.Q.

Where do I board/ disembark?
We usually depart at Apothekersdijk no.5 (it being our Shipping Office). It’s definitely possible for us to pick you up/ drop you off somewhere else. We do charge additional costs for picking you up/ dropping you off somewhere else.

Can I bring my own food/drinks?
You’re allowed to bring your own drinks and/or food. It’s also possible to book a catering arrangement, that we can put together completely to your liking.

How do I pay for the boat trip?
You can either pay at our Shipping Office cash or by PIN, or by invoice.

Until what time do you guys provide boat tours?
We’re ready to drive boats 24 hours per day. Contact us to discuss your wishes.

Can I rent a boat without a skipper?
Unfortunately we don’t rent any boats without skipper. Our partner, Olympia Charters (located in Warmond), does provide boats you can drive yourself.

Can a wheelchair bound person get on board?
Our boat Irma la Douche is equipped with a wheelchair lift. We do ask you to tell us you need to use the lift in advance, so we can prepare the boat accordingly.

What languages do your skippers speak?
Because of the many skippers working at our foundation, we can provide tours in the following languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Greek, Spanish, Japanese. We do appreciate it if you could tell us your preferred language in advance, so we can find a skipper who speaks the language in question.

Up to how many people can your boats carry?
With our twelve boats we can provide boat tours starting at one person, up to 300 people!
