Looking for voluntary hosts/hostesses
Are you hospitable with a positive attitude and would you like to welcome people, sell tickets and point tourists in the right direction if they’ve lost their way? Please continue reading!
As a host or hostess for Stichting De Leidse Rederij:
- You’ll answer tourists’ and guests’ questions about our Canal Tours and pre-booked tours. Give them information about Leiden and sell tickets for our Canal Tour and Venice of the West watertaxi;
- You’ll welcome guests and guide them to their boat and skipper;
- Decorate the boats (if necessary) with balloons and stuff, especially for weddings;
- Participate in events such as ‘Schemerstad’, ‘Peurbakkentocht’ and Woodstock on Water. You’ll help in our Shipping Office with some light work.
- Help skippers to get their catering, cushions, blankets, life jackets and occasionally umbrellas on board;
- If necessary, answer the phone and write down any questions or wishes for reservations.
Just like the other volunteers, you can decide for yourself on what days you want to be here.
